WHY CAN'T I SEE MY BLIND SPOT

It seems simple.  If we have a blind spot, why can't we see it?

Our blind spot is actually the site where our Optic Nerve leaves the eye.  Our optic nerve has no photoreceptors and therefore cannot see.

The reason why we don't walk around seeing a black spot in our vision at all times is because our brain does a great job in filling in the gaps in our vision.

How To See Your Blind Spot

  • Close your left eye
  • Focus your right eye on the star
  • Move in towards the star until the circle disappears. (This varies depending on monitor resolution)
  • Congratulations, you found your blind spot.
