Cinzia's Cynthia Shapiro

Founder of Europa International, Cynthia and her late husband, Alvin, started in the eye wear business in 1977. Their philosophy was to give their customers unbeatable service and quality products and to this day, has remained just that.

Cynthia Shapiro, fashionista, business woman, and designer. After seeing her friends having to settle for a limited selection of lifeless readers Cynthia decided to take the eye glass world by storm. With no previous design background, Cynthia began to create her own line of bold, sophisticated readers. The ideas kept flowing and Cynthia began designing other fashion accessories like chains, bracelets, earrings and hand bags and her now, popular ophthalmic line of eye wear.

Her ophthalmic line has been described as "sophisticated," "edgy," and "unique."

"I love clean, straight shapes and my designs are somewhat minimal, often inspired by  architecture. I look for quality. I want things that last a long time, and I look for basic colors that    go with everything - gray, black, beige and khaki- maybe with a pop of color."                                                                                    - Cynthia Shapiro

Keeping the focus on quality and excellent customer service, you will never find Europa International products in chain store, they work strictly with independents and can be found at both Eye Columbus locations!

OGI David Spencer

David Spencer's love for drawing started at a young age and his father knew immediately that passion would some how become a career path for David. Growing up in the optical field, having an optometrist for a father, and later on running an optical retail, David realized there was a gap in the market for smaller sized,  finely crafted frames. David Spencer began putting his passion for drawing to work and started designing his own frame line.

In 1997 David came out with his first line of eye wear, OGI. A collection of frames with a smaller  design, more refined shapes and brighter colors. Being the only one of its kind on the market, OGI became an instant success.

Continuing his success today, David is constantly designing new frames to keep up with the modern world and people's ever changing sense of style. He enjoys adding diligently placed details in his frames but still remains true to OGI's beginning philosophy of creating frames with premium materials and "fresh, contemporary flair."

Designer Hans Laursen for Inface

inface is a Danish design, started in 1987 by Hans Laursen. Hans started out following in this fathers footsteps, opening his own optical shop with the intent to sell fashionable, high quality frames. He was successful in this business but wanted to give his customers a more affordable frame while still keeping that attention to detail and high quality.  He soon found out that finding frames that were both economically friendly and up to his standard of quality was harder than he imagined. He then took it upon himself to design his own line of optical frames showcasing "true-design at a convenient price level." This is where Inface's success began.

The inface brand had taken off and was showing great success. Hans then sold his optical shops so he could focus solely on the inface brand. In 2005, Hans' son and daughter, Thomas and Mette, joined Inface as co-owners and partners. To this day, Inface is still a 100% family owned business, with frames being sold in over 25 countries. With all the growth that Inface has experienced throughout the years, their focus today is still the same as day one, offering the consumer original, and luxury eye wear.
